Memory foam mattresses and other products are very popular right now. Whether you are looking for a memory foam mattress, mattress topper or pillow, many stores seem to have just what you are looking for. Do they really have what you are looking for? Are you looking for a good quality product or are you looking for something cheap. You may be surprised what you’ll find in many memory foam products on the market today.

Many manufacturers are buying foam from overseas and making it here in the United States. The problem is, we don’t know exactly what they are passing off as “foam.” China is the biggest exporter of the so-called memory foam. Exporters of this cheap material use toxic chemicals in their products (remember the lead paint in all of the toys that came from China?). China also compresses each mattress for months. This leaves us unsure about the life of the mattress. Oversea manufacturers product a memory foam that seems to be comfortable (maybe on the first feel). These products are made to flatten out more the more they are compressed. These products also may not offer you the support that you’ll need to get a good night’s rest. Cheap foam can make you sick, not give you the support you need, and decrease the life of your mattress.

Be careful when you go to buy a memory foam mattress. Just because it says, “Made in the USA,” doesn’t mean that you’ll get a good quality mattress. You need to make sure that the mattress products are from the USA, as well as being assembled here. Many retailers that sell these cheap mattresses also sell other items such as: electronics, clothing, sporting goods, etc. If you are looking for a memory foam mattress that will benefit you and last a long time, go to a mattress specialty store. Spend a little more money and make sure that you are getting what you want and what you pay for.
